Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Pagri Dhaga (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use the Pagri Dhaga website at pagridhaga.com and the Pagri Dhaga Android app (together, the “Service”). Pagri Dhaga is a classified marketplace where mills, traders and stockists list yarn for sale and buyers ask for rates.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you list stock or sign in as a seller, we ask for your name, phone number, email address and a password. Your password is stored in scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read it. We use your email address only for your account, for example to reset a forgotten password.
- Listing details. The title, category, specification, business or seller name, city, contact phone number and photo you submit with a listing.
- Ask rate. When a buyer taps “Ask rate”, WhatsApp opens with a ready-made message addressed to the seller’s contact number. The conversation takes place in WhatsApp; we do not receive or store it.
Information collected automatically
- Push notification identifiers. If you allow notifications in the Android app, we receive a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token and a random identifier generated by the app for your device. If you are signed in as a seller, we link your phone number to that token so we can notify you, for example when your listing is approved.
- Cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in. We also set a cookie that stores your sign-in phone number so the app can match notifications to your account. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server logs such as IP address, browser or device type, and the pages requested, for security and reliability.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage seller accounts and to publish approved listings.
- To publish the listings you submit and to remove listings that break our rules.
- To let buyers contact sellers on WhatsApp.
- To send notifications about your listings, if you have allowed them.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
3. What is visible to others
When a listing is approved, its title, category, specification, photo, seller or business name and city are shown publicly. The contact phone number you enter with a listing is used to open a WhatsApp chat with you when a buyer taps “Ask rate”, so buyers can reach you on that number. Please use a number you are happy to be contacted on.
4. Who we share information with
- Hosting and email providers. Our website is hosted by Hostinger, which stores the Service’s data and handles the emails we receive.
- Google. Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your device contacts Google’s servers when a page loads.
- WhatsApp (Meta). When someone taps “Ask rate”, their phone opens WhatsApp. Messages and numbers sent through WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the Service.
5. How long we keep information
We keep account, listing and rate-request information for as long as your account is active or as needed to run the Service. Push notification tokens are kept until they stop working, you uninstall the app, or you ask us to delete them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 6).
6. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction and deletion. Email us at hello@pagridhaga.com from or mentioning the phone number on your account and we will correct your details or delete your account, your listings and any linked notification tokens. Step-by-step instructions are on our account deletion page.
- Notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in your Android device settings.
- Sign out. You can sign out from the Account tab to remove the sign-in cookies from your device.
7. Security
The Service is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is a business marketplace and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Where information is stored
Information may be stored and processed on servers operated by our hosting and notification providers, which may be located outside Pakistan.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
